Jay M. Abbazia, President, Broadband Agreement Specialists, Inc.
A telecommunications executive with over 40-years experience in video, data, voice and wireless, Jay M. Abbazia founded Broadband Agreement Specialists, Inc. in 2008, with a mission to obtain the most innovative telecommunications services, at the best pricing, for multifamily, manufactured and home, condominium and homeowner association clients nationwide. As a former Homeowner Association President, licensed Community Association Manager and residential telecom Subject Matter Expert Continuing Education Provider (CEU) for Florida Community Association Managers, his focus is on successfully negotiating Bulk and Marketing agreements that best meet the current and future needs of community residents. From a rental property and developer perspective, he has negotiated and managed agreements for residential owner portfolios nationwide, resulting in tens of millions of dollars collectively in owner savings and compensation.
Prior to founding Broadband Agreement Specialists, he was Director of Product Marketing Management at AT&T, responsible for corporate BellSouth Americast® franchised cable television marketing operations and MDU Video/Internet agreement negotiation management for Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Additionally, he served as a 50-state Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the AT&T Legislative Review Process for pending Shared Tenant/Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) and Building Access Exclusive Agreements. Assigned to special projects and service trials, he was on the planning and deployment executive “steering teams” for BellSouth WiMAX Wireless Internet in Florida, Georgia and Louisiana, and BellSouth IPTV Video service (which later became U-verse®). More recently he was involved with AT&T U-verse service marketing operations deployment. Mr. Abbazia also served as Regional Manager, Market Planning and Operations for Omnipoint Communications (now part of T-Mobile). In this capacity he was instrumental in the cellular company’s Florida pre-launch market planning and subsequent ongoing business operations management. Mr. Abbazia began his telecommunications career in 1983 with Selkirk Communications, a cable company now a part of Comcast Corporation. Thereafter, he held director positions in the cable television industry with Rifkin & Associates (system now part of Atlantic Broadband), TCI Tele-Communications, Inc. (now part of Comcast) and GEMS International Television (Spanish-language cable network Cox joint venture now Mun2/NBC Universo). Throughout his career he negotiated and managed thousands of residential bulk, right-of-entry and marketing agreements on behalf of cable television and phone service providers, as well as hundreds of agreements for Broadband Agreement Specialists, Inc. clients. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Barry University, in Miami Shores, Florida, Mr. Abbazia holds a bachelor’s degree, and is both a licensed Florida Community Association Manager and a licensed Continuing Education Provider (CEU) for Florida Community Association Managers. Additionally, he is also a former two (2) term board member for Community Association Institute, Southeast Florida Chapter. |
